-How I work

the Maitri Method

Maitri means loving-kindness. It is the ground the whole method rests on: the willingness to meet yourself with the same warmth you would offer someone you love. From there, we move through six stages - Meet, Attend, Inquire, Tend, Respond, Interconnect - each with an underlying movement: Presence, Awareness, Understanding, Compassion, Choice, Connection. Always at your pace.

01The six stages

The stages are a rhythm, not a ladder. We revisit them as your life asks us to.

01

Meet

Presence

We begin by simply meeting what is here. Not fixing, not judging, just arriving. Presence is the ground from which everything else grows.

02

Attend

Awareness

With gentle attention, we notice the patterns, sensations and stories running underneath. Awareness, without the pressure to change anything yet.

03

Inquire

Understanding

We get curious about what is really going on beneath the surface: the feelings, the needs, the values. This is where insight begins to take shape, guided by deep listening.

04

Tend

Compassion

Maitri in action: meeting what we find with kindness. Compassion is not softness; it is what makes honest self-enquiry possible.

05

Respond

Choice

From a steadier place, we practise choosing differently. Boundaries voiced kindly, conversations held with care, actions taken from clarity rather than fear.

06

Interconnect

Connection

Change settles into relationship and daily life. We integrate what has shifted so that who you are becoming is reflected in how you live and connect.

Between sessions, gentle practice

02What it’s like

A confidential, non-judgemental and compassionate space.

Before we begin

A free 15-minute call to understand what’s on your mind, and whether we’re the right fit. Nothing to prepare. Just come as you are.

In a session

Sixty minutes, online. We talk, we pause, we sometimes work with breath or body. I ask questions rather than give advice, and I reflect back what I hear.

Between sessions

A small practice or reflection to carry into your week - never homework, always an invitation. You can reach me between sessions if something needs holding.

03Questions, answered

What you might be wondering.

How sessions work, how your privacy is held, and what the journey tends to feel like from the inside.

Begin gently

Start with a conversation.

A 15-minute free exploratory call is recommended before scheduling sessions, to understand if we’re the right fit.
